The United Kingdom is home for me, I’ve travelled and lived around the country so here are some of my top travel tips for the UK. Currently I’m based in Newcastle Upon Tyne (England’s best city if you ask me!) in the North East of England.
What is the difference between the United Kingdom and Great Britain?
Many people use the terms ‘United Kingdom’, ‘Great Britain’ and even ‘England’ interchangeably but they’re all describing distinct parts of the British Isles. The British Isles describes all of the land around the UK, including Ireland, Jersey and Guernsey. The UK is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. So this includes England, Wales, Scotland and NI. Whereas Great Britain is just the mainland, so excludes Northern Ireland.

I’m definitely bias – but in my opinion the North East is a hugely underrated area of England. We have stunning coastlines, historic landmarks, an abundance of castles and some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet!
